There's Something About You
Do you want to hear something stupid? You smell of laundry detergent, and not just that fresh-out-of-the-washer scent, it’s like you wear it as a cologne. I don’t know what brand, but as soon as I realized it was your smell, it became my favorite scent. It became comfort.
One time, my mom must have used the same detergent, so then I had this shirt that smelled exactly like you. I remember crying into it once and for some reason that moment wasn’t as sad as it should’ve been, maybe because it was like you were there with me.
Soon, my mom went to the store,
got new detergent
and did the laundry;
life went on.
That shirt doesn’t smell like you anymore.
