Upstate Treasure

The cool crisp smell of the fresh mountain air.
The breeze from the elevation brushing against my hair.
I stand out on the deck holding ginger ale in my glass,
Admiring the sea of green grass,
Stretching as far as the eye can see.
In that moment, I feel as happy as I can be.
Catskills is a beautiful place to visit.
It gives you a piece of heaven, even if it’s just a snippet.
Standing outside, a pin drop can be heard from a mile away.
My siblings and I walk outside and ask me if I want to go play,
In the vast field of sweet nature.
In my mind, there is no feeling greater.
At night, we go to the town-famous “T-Bar,”
Where I order wings that might be better in my head than they actually are.
Back at the house, we finish the night with Uno and The Office.
My siblings and I learned to love the duo like our parents before us.
At night, I sleep upstairs in the crispy- cool carpeted room.
I need a good night’s rest before the trip can resume.
When I wake up, I am not in heaven on Earth.
I’m at my computer, typing, moving my fingers back and forth.
