Raindrops on Window

Cloudburst

Petrichor,
a reflection of Earth’s beauty.
Some humans find the rain
plummeting in droplets on the inky street
to be melancholy.

If

If all of the grey clouds were removed from the blue sky, would it still snow?
If it never rained again, would the flowers still flourish and grow?

The Colors on my Canvas

I want to hold hands with you under a beautiful sunset,
Filled with the red of my blood,
Mixed with the blue of my tears,
The pink of my lips
And the orange of my nail polish.

Talking to the Moon

Once upon a time, there were two friends named Dusk and Dawn
They would spend all their time together until one or the other began to yawn

She is a source

Wherever she goes people follow
She is a source
Of magnetic energy
That everyone seems to be drawn to.

I Want to Hear That Song

That song that you speak of
I would like to hear it too.
It sounds beautiful and harmonious;
It sounds like peace and equality.
Nothing like what I hear today.

Upstate Treasure

The cool crisp smell of the fresh mountain air.
The breeze from the elevation brushing against my hair.
I stand out on the deck holding ginger ale in my glass,
Admiring the sea of green grass,
Stretching as far as the eye can see.
In that moment, I feel as happy as I can be.

How

How great we sound together
always bursting and booming.
How our feet move in unison.
How crisp and clear the sounds come out,
when I follow in your stride.

Black and White

Black and white.
White is pure; black is mysterious.
Black makes people scared, since it makes them curious.
White is untouched yet uncouth, it’s furious.

Minorities Not Included

You preach so loudly for the diversity
Our country is so proud of.
The foundation of our nation
So unique and intricate.
Shelter and home of the immigrants.

To my beloved Anne

Lovely and beautiful, aren’t you?
You're so precious to me, it’s as if I live for you.
Staring at her could make the devil shed a tear,
Being loved by her shouldn’t be even fair.

Remember?

Do you remember?
Remember when the cotton candy sky
was invaded by an army of gray cirrus
and we were stuck underneath the flickering lamp post with one umbrella?

To My Second Half

Every sunset the ocean chanted our favorite song;

You and me both know that this is where we belong.

When you hold me tight in your arms, time seems to disappear.

Not having enough time with you is the only thing I fear.

Who am I to become?

When i was older
Taking a step back into my future
Who I am to become
Has everything to do with who I am now
Who i choose to be around me

Dear America

America the great, the land of opportunity,
Or so they say.
I am from aspirations and surpassing limitations and hopeful futures.
My abilities are often underestimated, but
My own expectations are rarely missed.

Impossible

I thought I didn’t love you.
And it wasn’t until you died, I realized.
I realized how much I love you, how badly I need you.
When I heard the news, it was as if my heart was torn out of its roots.

Being a girl

She went to school in a shirt
but had to take it off.
He went to school in the same shirt
And nothing was said
Why was it different for the girl?
Was her body the problem?
