How great we sound together
always bursting and booming.
How our feet move in unison.
How crisp and clear the sounds come out,
when I follow in your stride.
Although I’d say I’m surpassing your talents -
that’s what happens with age.
How even though we make great rivals,

Abby always was the cherub child flying ferociously as if to return to eternity
with all those rats below, scuttling about with their eyes on the broken glass at their toes.
Wings so great and passionate, so wild that she almost, just almost, made it.
