Impossible

I thought I didn’t love you.
And it wasn’t until you died that I realized.
I realized how much I love you, how badly I need you.

How

How great we sound together
always bursting and booming.
How our feet move in unison.
How crisp and clear the sounds come out,
when I follow in your stride.
Although I’d say I’m surpassing your talents -

How even though we make great rivals,
we always sound ten times better together

every turn and step -
every yes and no,
is a puzzle piece of who I am to be.
